Pecha Kucha (Speeches)
Learning to speak in front of an audience is an important life skill, and like any other skill can be improved with practice and repetition. As we discussed today, many of you will at the very least make a speech at your own wedding or that of a close friends. Others will select careers, such as a teacher, nurse or someone in public relations, where you present in front of peers on a regular basis. With this in mind our Speech Unit focuses on developing your a skills
and hopefully helps you to increase your confidence in your own ability to be entertaining.
Pecha Kucha talks are image enhanced speeches in which thought provoking images support what is being said. While traditional Pecha Kucha talks usually are 20 slides of 20 seconds each, for our school talks we are adopting the format of 15x20 or 15 slides of 20 seconds each for a total speech length of 5:00 minutes.
